Ich war mit den Schülern der vierten Klasse an einem Projekt über Maschinen und Menschen beschäftigt, als die Pandemie ausbrach.
Alle Tätigkeit an den Schulen würden ausgesetzt. Für mich wie für viele andere , die Welt schien für einen Moment stillzustehen: Die Antworten entsprachen nicht mehr den Fragen, und die Maschinen, die unfertig geblieben waren, begannen eine neue Dimension anzunehmen. Die Suche nach neuen Formen der analogen Kommunikation, um der physischen Distanz inmitten der exzessiven Nutzung digitaler Medien entgegenzuwirken, wurde zum Hauptmotiv des Projekts.

Die ausgestellten Werke und Projekte sind das Ergebnis der Begegnung zwischen den Schüler*innen der Carl-Humann-Grundschule und der Künstlerin Vanessa Farfán im Rahmen des Programms Max – Artists in Residence an Grundschulen.
Max –Artists in Residence an Grundschulen, ein Programm der Stiftung Brandenburger Tor in Kooperation mit der Universität der Künste Berlin. Gefördert von der Schering Stiftung.
Das Programm Max – Artists in Residence an Grundschulen, ausgezeichnet mit dem Zukunfts- preis für Kulturbildung 2018 – DER OLYMP! der Kulturstiftung der Länder und der Deutsche Bank Stiftung, ermöglicht Künstler*innen aus unterschiedlichsten Gattungen für mindestens ein Jahr ihr Atelier in einer Grundschule einzurichten. Eine von gegenseitiger Inspiration ge- tragene Atmosphäre ermöglicht den gemeinsamen künstlerischen Prozess, denn hier trifft die Arbeit am eigenen Werk auf die Begegnung mit Lehrenden und Schüler*innen. Das Atelier als Raum innerhalb der Schule in Abgrenzung zum Unterricht setzt Impulse zur Integration von Ästhetischer Bildung im Schulalltag.

I was working with fourth grade students on a project about machines and humans when the pandemic broke out.
All activities in the schools were suspended. For me, as for many others, the world seemed to freeze for a moment: The answers no longer corresponded to the questions, and the machines that had remained unfinished began to acquire a new dimension.
The search for new forms of analogue communication to counteract physical distance in the midst of excessive use of digital media became the main motive of the project.

The exhibited works and projects are the result of the encounter between the students of the Carl-Humann-Grundschule and the artist Vanessa Farfán as part of the programme Max - Artists in Residence at primary schools.
Max -Artists in Residence at primary schools, a programme of the Brandenburg Gate Foundation in cooperation with the Berlin University of the Arts. Supported by the Schering Stiftung.
The programme Max - Artists in Residence at Primary Schools, which has been awarded the Future Prize for Cultural Education 2018 - THE OLYMP! by the Kulturstiftung der Länder and the Deutsche Bank Foundation, enables artists* from a wide variety of genres to set up their studios in a primary school for at least one year. An atmosphere of mutual inspiration makes the joint artistic process possible, since this is where the work on one’s own work meets the encounter with teachers and pupils. The studio as a space within the school in demarcation to the classroom sets impulses for the integration of aesthetic education in everyday school life.
