Gemeinsam für den Wald

Past
Last October and November, protests against Central America’s largest open-pit copper mine held Panama in a state of siege. The country was shaken by its largest protest movement in decades. The mine is located in a biodiverse region that is part of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. What Panama stands to lose is its precious biodiversity.

In “Together for the rainforest” I want to document the tireless efforts of the heroes that defend and protect animal species in Panama. The small Central American country is a hotbed of biodiversity. Its tropical rainforests are home to some of the most diverse species on Earth. The protection of the country’s natural resources is vital to support life. These heroes give everything to achieve one goal: to preserve the rich biodiversity of our country for generations to come.
